Recognition for Inn Places Pubs with Rooms
15 November 2016
The pub industry is a very exciting place to be involved with at the moment. I am very lucky to have been a judge for Morning Advertiser Top 50 Gastropub Awards for the past six years and it has been wonderful to see such passion, innovation and creativity raising the bar for industry standards. While winning awards isn’t everything, we do also have some fantastic pubs with rooms who have recently been recognised with top awards.
The Good Pub Guide has given awards to the following Inn Places properties – ‘Pub of the Year 2017’ to The Horse Guards Inn, near Petworth, West Sussex, ‘Inn of the Year 2017’ to The Inn at Whitewell, Lancashire and ‘Dining Pub of the Year 2017’ to The Red Lion at East Chisenbury, Wiltshire. Quite a collection!
We were delighted for The Bull at Ditchling, East Sussex, who have won the title of Great British Pub of the Year 2016 taking the title from another great Inn Places property, The Shibden Mill Inn, Yorkshire, who were awarded the accolade in 2015. We were very pleased to see a new category introduced this year – Great British Inn – as we are of course strong advocates of the growing pubs with rooms sector. It was fantastic to see The Cartford Inn, Lancashire scoop the award this year and I look forward to seeing more recognition for pubs offering rooms in the future.
